Hyperdopaminergia

What is hyperdopaminergia and how does it compare with hypglutamatergia?

Hyperdopaminergia is a state of dopaminergic overactivity, often in patients with schizophrenia. Patients with more prominent hyperdopaminergia show a better response to antipsychotics. It is more likely in patients who present  with acute psychosis.

Compare:

Hypoglutamatergia

Patients exhibit hypogluamatergia when they have relatively low glutamate neurotransmission.
