Cognitive Rehabilitation
What is cognitive rehabilitation?
Identifying functional goals that apply to the person living with dementia and working with them and their family members or carers to achieve these emphasizing improving or maintaining functioning, developing strengths, and compensating for impairments, and bolstering independence. Authors sometimes refer to rehabilitation as 'Reablement'. Cognitive rehabilitation does not aim to improve cognition but addresses the disability resulting from the impact of cognitive impairment on everyday functioning and activity.
